Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu was convicted on April 16, 2024, on multiple charges, including stealing, conspiracy, causing financial loss to the state, and money laundering. The conviction followed findings that she embezzled GH¢3.19 million during her tenure at the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC).
In addition to the embezzled funds, authorities held her responsible for causing an estimated GH¢90 million financial loss to the state. The scale of the loss has made the case one of the most significant corruption prosecutions in Ghana in recent years.
The Nevada court’s ruling was made public on April 12, 2026, drawing widespread attention due to the high-profile nature of the case and her former position in a key government institution.
With the extradition process now approved, attention shifts to the next steps for her transfer to Ghana. The case continues to highlight ongoing efforts to address corruption and enforce accountability in public office.
