Ghanaian singer Belinda Nana Akua Amoah known in showbiz as Mzbel, according to ealier reports states that she had been arrested.
Confirming the arrest of Mzbel, Police Public Relations Officer of CID, DSP Juliana Obeng mentioned on Adom News that the musician came to the CID Headquarters on her own on Monday but was officially arrested.
Her arrest was due to a statement Mzbel made about TV personality Stacy Amoateng on TV that the latter is HIV positive per the information she gathered from Prophet Nigel Gaisie.
Stacy’s complaint which caused for the arrest of Mzbel was defamation of character of which the Police Public Relations Officer of CID, DSP Juliana Obeng stated that Mzbel has been cautioned on Section 208 of the Criminal Code.
Mzbel in reaction to news of her arrest went live on Instagram a few minutes after 6pm. She didn’t say anything in the live video except Fellow Ghanaians.
