Former Nickelodeon star Tylor Chase, who appeared to be living on the streets in a recent viral video, has reunited with a former costar.
Daniel Curtis Lee, who starred with Chase in Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, took Chase out for pizza and helped him find a room in his local area in Los Angeles, a video posted to Lee’s Instagram account on December 23 showed.
The Context
Lee and Chase both starred in Nickelodeon’s live-action sitcom Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, which ran for three seasons from 2004 to 2007. They played the roles of Simon “Cookie” Nelson Cook and Martin Qwerly.
A viral TikTok video posted earlier this week by the content creator ricecrackerspov appeared to show Chase experiencing homelessness. That video quickly went viral and has been viewed 4.9 million times as of reporting and follows similar videos shared to TikTok in Septembers.
These videos sparked concern for Chase, with people sharing their prayers for him online and trying to find ways to help. Beyond that, it has instigated an online discourse about the problems faced by child stars and the ethics of filming unhoused people for social media videos, with many criticizing this.
Chase had previously been open about his struggles with mental health in content shared to his YouTube channel. He began sharing video and live-poetry performances in the 2010s and shared that he had experienced bipolar disorder.
What To Know
After the most recent video was posted, Lee shared on social media that he is trying to help his former costar.
“A lot of you guys are concerned about Tylor Chase this holiday season, and I just wanted to give you an update,” Lee said in a recent Instagram post. He shared that he and Chase’s other former co-stars are trying to help him.
In a video shared to Instagram, Lee said that the actor Shaun Weiss, who previously overcame his own struggles with homelessness and addiction, had made a lot of effort to try and get Chase into a hospital, but ultimately these efforts had been unsuccessful.
“I thought it worked, his dad told me it worked, but it turns out, he kind of backed out,” Lee said in the video.
The video then showed footage of Lee and Chase out for pizza together.
Lee said in the video that he had put Chase up in a hotel. “It’s raining out, and I just want them to have at least some basic accommodations. He wanted to stay local, and this was the only one that was open and accepted people,” he said.
It’s not the first time that Lee has addressed the struggles of his former co-star. In September of 2025, after social media videos showed Chase experiencing homelessness, Lee, alongside his other former costars, Devon Werkheiser and Lindsay Shaw, who played the titular role of Ned Bigby and Jennifer “Moze” Mosely on the show, discussed the situation on their podcast, Ned’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide and said they were working to try and help him.
