Brother of Corporal Stephen Kwaku Nyame has accused the police of lying on his brother over the Bullion Van robbery saga

Younger brother of the late Corporal Stephen Kwaku Nyame has accused Ghana Police Service of lying on their brother in the ongoing Bullion Van robbery saga.

The late police officer is reported dead by the Ghana Police Service in a statement in which the police stated that he was shot dead together with Constable Reindorf Gyimah Pablo when they took them to the hideout of their accomplices involved in the June 2021 Bullion Van robbery.

According to the Ghana Police Service, Corporal Stephen Kwaku Nyame and Constable Reindorf Gyimah Pablo were arrested as prime suspects in the Bullion Van Robbery Saga.

After the police statement, photos of the above-mentioned officers and other officers believed to be part of the robbery have been trending on social media with criminal tags.

The family of Corporal Stephen Kwaku Nyame has spoken to Angel Fm about how the police are treating them.

According to the younger brother who spoke on Angel Fm, he said their brother had an accident in December 2021 at Obetsebi Lamptey roundabout.

He’s been in the hospital since until the police came to arrest him that Constable Reindorf Gyimah Pablo has mentioned him as one of his accomplices in the Bullion Van robbery.

The brother said the wife told the family that the police don’t allow her to visit him as they guard him in the hospital.

When he got healed the police took him to the PDI office but they didn’t allow the wife to see where they kept him.

They came to his home to conduct a search but didn’t tell the family where they were keeping him.

The family wasn’t briefed about anything till they heard in the news that Corporal Stephen Kwaku Nyame has been shot dead.

They went to the police headquarters but they couldn’t tell them anything.

A week after he was reportedly shot dead, the family is yet to see his body.

On the robbery tag, the family denied him being an armed robber because he is poor to the extent that he struggles to pay the school fees of his son who lives with his mother in Takoradi.

The brother talked about how Corporal Stephen Kwaku Nyame has been hated by some officers even in his days at the training school where he won the best drill.
