Weed taking over Atwima Mponua Highways – Drivers lament

Taxi drivers on the Atwima Mponua Highways have had to spend time clearing the route of weeds.

If the video on this site is any indication, the tall weeds have taken over the road to the point that users, and especially cars, have trouble seeing down the road

Drivers have parked their vehicles to remove the bushes and avoid potential collisions as a result of the circumstance.

They parked their automobiles yesterday, September 19th, 2022, to remove the thick weeds, and they complained about it in a video they posted online.

They said that authorities at their GPRTU base forced them to engage in weeding.

They claim the clearing is the responsibility of the Atwima Mponua Highway Authority, but the authority has shown no signs of concern.

In the words of the driver who filmed the incident: “The Highway is bushy, instead of the Atwima Mponua Highway Authority engaging laborers to clean the weeds, they are rather sleeping on the job, leaving us the taxi drivers to suffer.”

Another motorist said, “The GPRTU has forced us to remove the vegetation, although it is not our job to do so.” The response to any mention of worry is always “park your vehicle and leave the station.”

Now, drivers want the government to step in.
