UPSA Lecturer sacks Black Sherif for wearing earrings on campus
A lecture of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) in line with UPSA’s dress code has sacked the Destiny, 1st and 2nd Sermon hitmaker, Mohammed Ismail Sherif widely known as Black Sherif for wearing earrings on campus.
According to a viral video sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh, the man identified as a lecture asked the ‘Kwaku Frimpong de asem beba’ originator to remove his earrings as it violates the rules of the Professional University.
“You are Sarkodie’s friend, but Sarkodie does not put on earrings, we won’t allow you with that, go and read, we have a dress code,” the staff of the Accra-based university directed the popular musician.
The Management of the University early this year gave lectures the authority to walk out any prospective student who is improperly dressed and expose vital parts of his or her bodies on campus and from lecture halls.
UPSA’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abednego F. O. Amartey, in his address at the 2021 matriculation of the university last Friday said this will ensure students are disciplined and act as good ambassadors of the University.
He told the 2021 matriculants that indecent dressing to lectures violates the rules of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) and goes contrary to their to adhere to a professional appearance at all times.
“To end the journey you are beginning successfully, you need to regularly attend lectures, complete all your assignments, and shun deviant behaviour and other vices that can interfere with your bright future,” Amartey stated
