Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice-President of the Republic has assured the teacher trainee allowance paid to students in public teacher training colleges will be permanent under President Nana Akufo-Addo administration.
He told the leadership of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) when they paid him a visit at the Jubilee House to commend the NPP government for restoring the trainee allowance the opposition NDC cancelled in their term of office.
Speaking to Dr Bawumia, TTAG said the restoration of the trainee allowance has cushioned many students in teacher training colleges citing that the intervention by the government is “an unforgettable legacy.”
Addressing them, President Akufo-Addo’s right-hand man assured the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana of the government’s continuous support and investment in education at all levels, to ensure easy access to Ghanaians.
“The teacher trainee allowance will be permanent under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government,” Dr Mahamudu Bawumia noted as stated in a script sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh.
