The covid19 pandemic has caused a lot of businesses to shut down in Ghana and the world at large. The virus is mostly spread through social gathering. In various countries, social distance, shutdown and lockdown protocols have initiated by governments to curb this pandemic as implemented by the president of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.
Though the pandemic has affected most businesses, nothing can be compared to effect on the educational sector. Since the outbreak in Ghana, schools has not resume from 16th March, 2020. This effect has caused schools financially and students in area of academics.
According to the structure of Ghana Education Service, a new term should begin adding two terms for the basic school structure and the secondary expected group for the semster.
In view of this, most schools especially the private sectors are using electronic means to deliver teaching and learning. With the title Electronic Term, most of the schools are using WhatsApp and other use Google class tutorials.
According to some heads of schools, we can’t help but to implement these platforms to continue with our good work by educating our children for their future lies on us. What we do with them today goes a long way with them. They added parent should support financially inorder for expected result.
A teacher asked, “how are they performing even when we are in school?” We can not make our children stay at home with studies, for instances if school will resume in September, then it means that our children will be at home for six month. This will not help our children’s performances and the country.
Some parents are happy about such initiative and will do their best to support the idea.
