Support E-levy so we can pay you – Roads and Highways Minister tells Contractors in Ghana

Kwesi Amoako-Atta, Minister of Roads and Highways, has requested road contractors to support the government’s electronic levy endeavor.

The Minister claims that if the e-levy passes, the government would be able to pay its debts.

The Minister, Kwasi Amoako-Atta, said that when the E-Levy is implemented, a lot of bad roads would be rectified.

It will be fair when the E-levy goes into effect. The government will pay all contractors. When the E-Levy is implemented, we will be able to pay all contracts. You will immediately gain from its deployment. No serious government will prank its contractors.

Mr. Amoako-Atta also remarked that plans exist to convert toll booths into proper washrooms.

To minimize instances where motorists stop arbitrarily, we plan to renovate all toll booth buildings to offer suitable washrooms for motorists.

The Minister’s remarks echo government officials’ demands on Ghanaians to pay the e-levy.

They claim Ghana would benefit greatly from the fee because it will create employment and infrastructure
