Christians often use the saying “God giveth, God taketh” when they suffer a loss. Similar sentiments have been expressed about the life and death of Ghanaian player Christian Atsu.
But, an irritated Majid Michel has urged others who have resorted to making such proclamations, especially Christians, to cease their actions. The actor says that the term has no place here and that Christian Atsu died too soon.
“I don’t believe in ‘you don’t know what will happen tomorrow, God gives and God takes.’ That is a lie!” Majid said. “It was Job that made that statement. That ‘God gives and God takes’ statement, Job said it out of anguish! It was Job’s words and now we have made it a doctrine. It’s false.”
