Police invites pastor who asked followers to pay ₵5,600 to make heaven to explain himself

The Nigerian police have opened up an investigation into the alleged report of a Nigerian pastor who asked his gullible congregants to part ways with a whopping N310,000 (₵5,600) for them to prepare for the end of the world.

The preacher, Nuah Abraham has consequently been invited for questioning by the police in Ekiti.

The report about the so-called pastor who heads the Christ High Commission Ministry has that he had asked members to relocate to a camp in Araromi-Ugbesi in Omuo-Oke-Ekiti to “prepare for the end of the world”, the police said.

Police spokesperson in the state, Sunday Abutu, said the pastor relocated from Kaduna where his church is known as Royal Christ Assembly. Mr. Abutu said the invitation is to allow the preacher to explain himself.

One of Mr. Abraham’s church members confirmed to journalists that the pastor first relocated to Ekiti in 2021 from his former base in Kaduna State.

“He later returned to Kaduna State in April to ask each member of his church to pay him N310,000 before they are allowed to follow him to Araromi-Ugbesi in Omuo-Oke-Ekiti in Ekiti East,’’ the faithful said.

The member who asked his identity to be shielded said the pastor has told them the money will facilitate their entry into heaven quickly.
