Parliament Approves 2022 Budget Statement In The Absence Of MPs From The Minority Side

The 2022 budget statement and economic policy of the government read by Ken Ofori Atta, Minister of Finance has been approved by the Parliament.

This came up following the initial decision that had the minority of the house rejecting the budget after the majority staged a walkout protest.

Well, today, November 30th, the majority claimed to have approved the budget in the absence of the members of the minority.

The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta resubmitted a revised version of the 2022 budget and it was approved by the majority including the Speaker of Parliament.

The Parliament considered the motion on the budget after the revised version proposed E-Levy reduce from 1.75% to 1.5%, so it was approved with the First Deputy Speaker, Joseph Osei Owusu counting as an MP making the majority side 138 members.
