One person was killed and nine others injured following a head-on collision of two mini-buses on a busy road in Nigeria’s southwestern state of Ondo on Wednesday, a road traffic official said.
Ezekiel SonAllah, a commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ondo, told reporters in Akure, the state’s capital, that the incident along the ever-busy Ondo-Ore road could be attributed to speed violations and loss of control.
SonAllah said the injured sustained head wounds, fractures, and lacerations while one victim died at the hospital.
The road traffic official urged the motorists to install speed limit devices in their vehicles and maintain the speed limit, adding motorists must ensure the road-worthiness of their vehicles, especially during the rainy season. Enditem
