Rastafarian father laments over the denial of his brilliant son by the authorities of Achimota school due to his dreadlocks.
“Raswad Menkrabea” is the Facebook name of the Ghanaian Rastafarian who shared his story on Facebook.
According to him, his brilliant son who is yet to further his education in high school, got placement to one of the prominent high schools in Ghana, Achimota school.
However, when he sent his son to the school to be admitted, he was rejected alongside another boy because of their hairstyle.
To the Rastafarian father of the brilliant boy, his son has every right to his culture, so far as carrying dreadlocks to school does not breach the 1992 constitutions of Ghana.
“As a Rastafarian, I think that dreadlocks do not way cause any harm which should even be a basis to be asserted by the school authorities.” he wrote.
