A large number of people may have been killed when a trailer full of wood logs lost control in Bogoso, a town in the Prestea Huni Valley municipality in the Western Region
The chains reportedly broke at the Bogoso roundabout close to the central market; nevertheless, the exact reason for the disaster remains unknown.
Despite the fact that Saturday is often a bustling market day, several merchants fled away without taking their goods with them.
Vehicles were damaged when falling logs hit them.
The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and other emergency services responded quickly to the disaster and saved many lives.
