Man Reveals How Minister Of Health In Ghana Rejected A Full Warehouse Of Free Hospital Beds Over Duty Payment Issues At The Port
A Man has has taken to Twitter to reveal how the ministry of health had the opportunity to get a warehouse full of hospital beds but lost the chance to Nigeria over payment of Duty fees in Ghana.
The rules of Ghana makes sure every goods that come into the country passes through the ports and the officials ensure that the duty fees are paid fully by the person bringing in the goods. But in the case of this young man, he was shocked when he was asked by the MoH to pay for the full duty fees on the free hospital beds he was bringing to the country.
According to him, he had to divert his attention to Nigeria where all the goods were cleared at the port with no duty charges.
A lot of Ghanaians have expressed shock over the actions of the ministry especially since majority of hospitals in the country lack hospital beds.
There’s been several occasions where patients are forced to sleep on the bare floor or sit on plastic chairs just to receive treatment for their ailments.
