After murdering his wife, 53-year-old Ofori Boateng hung himself in a bush in the neighborhood of Kota, Berekum, Bono Region, leaving the community in a state of shock and sadness.
Kasapa News quoted a journalist named Akwasi Bodua who stated the pair, who had two children together, had been happily married until the male, who was said to be wealthy, started engaging in promiscuous behavior.
Ama Mary, his 33-year-old wife, expressed concern about his behavior and pleaded with him to stop, but he ignored her.
In two separate gatherings, the husband’s family discussed her concerns about her husband’s behavior. The guy continued to pursue other women despite this.
Not being able to take her husband’s dubious behavior any longer, Ama Mary went to her pastor to have him called to order.
Ofori Boateng threatened to murder the Pastor and himself if the man of God got involved in his marital problems when he was welcomed to church.
Ama Mary fled her house and hid with relatives for three months when her husband, Ofori Boateng, threatened to murder her upon his return.
About two weeks ago, Ofori Boateng came to Ama Mary to seek for forgiveness and invite her back to their marital home.
Ofori Boateng, unaware of her intentions, shot her in the head at close range early on Monday morning before fleeing the scene. At the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum, she was declared dead upon arrival.
Ofori Boateng subsequently contacted a member of his wife’s family to confess to murdering her and to say that he was on his way to commit suicide by hanging himself.
Once there, Ama Mary’s relatives discovered the body of Ofori Boateng, who had been found dangling from a tree.
The police came shortly afterwards and transported the corpse to the same mortuary where his wife’s remains are being held.
Ama On this coming Friday, Mary had planned to bury her mother. Sadly, her mother passed away unexpectedly.
