A sad audio which has received mixed reactions from social media captures the moment a female tenant sent a voice note to her landlord to plead with him to use her body in exchange for her rent arrears.
According to the lady, due to the current economic hardships, she can’t afford to pay the new rent which advance which is 250,000 naira equivalent to Ghc 6,659.69.
After making her plea to the landlord, she opted to use her body as a sacrificial lamb because since she can’t pay in cash, she can pay in kind.
Unfortunately, the focused landlord turned down her offer and firmly told her to pack out of his house if can’t pay the new rent advance.
The ‘spell’ the lady tried to cast on the landlord backfired hence I’m sure she’s now packing her belongings to pack out of the house.
One of the most useless state agencies in Africa is rent control. Not in Ghana alone but the whole of Africa at large.
How do you expect a person to pay two years’ rent in advance while the minimum wage in the continent is nothing but peanuts?
