It’s by Grace we’re still alive. There is nothing I can say to this except by thanking God, Elder Kwaku Marfo, a resident of the house said in disbelief as tears rolled down his cheeks. The elder who was preparing for his afternoon trip with some church members, after he had said goodbye to his wife, found himself again exchanging farewell pleasantries in front of their gate when a tanker nearly crashed them to death.
Just a few inches from the main wall where the fuel tanker crashed, was where the wife of Elder Kwaku Marfo stood, and responded to her husband before moving to the right direction of the compound, to pick a sachet rubber when the tanker surprised them all. The elder who thought the fuel tanker had hit his wife, rushed from the roadside to the house, but to his surprise, the wife was standing a few inches away from the tanker.
It was a miracle I can never ever explain. She was shaking as something had felt on her. She was standing about four feet away from the tanker and if the tanker had gone further a bit, she would have been a dead body by now. We can not understand what the Lord has shown us today. This is a testimony, saved by grace, and we are thankful to the Lord for saving as today, the elder said as he bowed down to wipe the tears out of his face after seeing his wife alive.
Maame Esther, the unhurt woman who was saved from the accident, was still in a shake as the elder together with rescuers, helped her settle down before attending to the occupants of the tanker. The other residents who were all watching television in the house, went unhurt as the accident never affected them in any way, except a shake of the house.
The driver of the tanker, a man within his forties, has been taken to the Akomaa Memorial SDA hospital after concrete blocks from the pillars of the wall, fell on him in his driver’s seat. The windscreen of the tanker as well as the front bonnets have all been crashed beyond repairs but no casualty was recorded as the driver and tanker attendant, walked out with critical injuries only.
The driver sustained injuries to the head, chest, and hands while the tanker attendant sustained laps injuries after a concrete block fell on his laps. The two occupants are all at the hospital receiving treatment as the fire department and MTTD police officers from the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma district, prepare to tow the tanker away from the
Nothing has been shared on the cause of the accident as the police, and fire department works to clear the area but it is been speculated around that, the accident may be due to a brake failure. The driver hasn’t spoken about the accident yet as hospital officials continue to stabilize his critical injuries after three concrete blocks fell on him.
The house has been damaged from the gate side; as over twenty-six feet long of the wall has developed cracks after the tanker run through it. The porch of the six-bedroom self-contained house, was not left untouched by the tanker as the front pillars of the porch, stopped the tanker from further destructions.
Looking at monetary value, over Fifty Thousand Cedis worth of damage has been caused today at Kentenkyire in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma district, after a tanker lost control and run through a six-bedroom house with wall.
