Cardi B donated a considerable sum to her old middle school in the hopes that it will significantly benefit the students there.
The Grammy-winning rapper arrived at I.S., where she used to hang out. Tuesday, September 13, at 232 in the Morris Park section of The Bronx, she told the pupils about her $100,000 gift.
“I’m hoping we can have amazing after-school activities. Maybe like tutoring or maybe something fun like a music program. Y’all like music, y’all like to dance?” she asked the students.
She continued: “Maybe we can have an amazing after-school program. But I will be donating $100,000 to the school.”
The youngsters present let out a loud yell upon hearing about the donation, and one of the teachers hugged Cardi tightly. She then answered a few students’ inquiries and provided guidance regarding their long-term objectives.
“A couple of years from now… Make sure you think long-term,” she said. “Where do you want to be in a couple of years from now?”
Cardi has frequently emphasized the need of education, and recently, she has devoted even more time to helping the young people of New York City.
Last week at the back-to-school gathering hosted by the nonprofit Community Capacity Development, the 29-year-old startled a group of children by showing up. She told FOX5 that “the kids are everything.”
