The coronavirus pandemics has affected all sectors of life in world wide especially in the areas of fuel prices. Some will say, it a blessing in disguise because prices have dropped in the world market making it positive effect on the side petroleum consumers. Commercial drivers are the majority in terms of petroleum consumers yet Ghanaian commercial drivers are lamenting since there is no change in the prices of fuel.
Following directives of the government – social distancing protocol in cars and buses and announcement of reduced prices in fuel by the ministry in charge of petroleum.
Kwame Kuma – National Chairman of the GPRTU said on Atinka Tv, fares have not change and are the same because the government has not reduced the prices and hopes the government will bring directives in relation to fuel prices.
He added “I urge all car owners and drivers to play their role in the fight against the virus”. He said drives should adhere to the laws of the country and directives of law enforcement officers and that they are not enemies to them.
