At the beginning of May 2023, the National Communication Authority (NCA) release the short code *402*1# to assist individuals in checking contacts (phone numbers) linked to their respective ECOWAS Identity Card (Ghana Card).
However, after successfully checking your link contacts and you find strange contacts that you are certain you did not register but are linked to your card, the NCA directs you to follow the steps below to de-link such strange contacts.
According to the NCA,
for Individual SIM Registrations
If you wish to delink any number from the list of registered numbers you receive after using the shortcode/USSD, kindly visit your Service Provider Customer Care Shop (not Agent) with your Ghana Card. Please note that your Service Provider will conduct a full Know Your Customer (KYC) before a delinking will be effected.
For Business SIM Registrations
Service Providers will release a Webpage with security login as some businesses have over 200 numbers and text messages cannot show all.
