Greater Accra: Immigration officers urged to obey rules that govern the Service

The Greater Accra Regional Commander of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), Maud Anima Quainoo, has advised Immigration officers to be conversant with the rules and regulation that governs the Service.

In a meeting with staff of the Immigration service last month at the Legon District Command, she advised officers to familiarise themselves with the norms, laws and regulations that govern operations of the Ghana Immigration Service as an Enforcement Agency.

She also urged them to support and work to uphold the vision of the Service.

The Regional Commander admonished them to desist from any action that will tarnish the name of the Service and lead to sanctions.

During another visit to the Amasaman Immigration District Command, she told officers to refrain from extorting money from innocent people seeking recruitment into the Service.

She urged officers that management is working hard to bridge the gap challenges affecting the Command post and boost the morale of staff.

The Regional Commander also encouraged officers to work hard in order for their needs and petitions to be fast-tracked at the management level and also advised female officers to dress decently and desist from flimsy excuses towards work.

She encouraged officers to eschew laziness and give off their best In support of the good work being done by the Officers-In-Charge and rally behind them to achieve the vision of the Service – Delivering excellence in Security and Migration Management for National development.”
