The Government of Ghana (GoG) through the Ministry of Interior (MINT) has declared Tuesday, July 20, 2021, as a statutory public holiday which marks Eid-ul-Adha for Muslims across the country.
The Interior Ministry in a statement copied to EducationWeb.com.gh said the statutory public holiday should be observed as such throughout the country with strict adherence to the novel safety coronavirus protocols.
“The general public is hereby informed that Tuesday, 20th July, 2021 which marks Eid-ul-Adha, is a statutory public holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country,” MINT stated in the press release.
Eid al-Adha is the latter of the two official Islamic holidays celebrated within Islam. It honours the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God’s command
