Good News: Oyerepa FM resumes work after its closure by Manhyia

It had been in the news for a few days that Manhyia had shut down Oyerepa FM/TV because of insults broadcast by politician Akwasi Addai Odike.

After their shutdown, the media company sent an apology to Manhyia and even sent an official to personally apologize, but their efforts were met with rejection and the instruction to return after having made extensive preparations.

Leaders from several media outlets, including Prof. Emmanuel Asante, travelled to Manhyia for a second time to apologize in person.

After the meeting went well, the prophet said that Manhyia had accepted the apologies and requested that the station start broadcasting.

According to Manhyia, media outlets should be wary about who they let on air to express an opinion.

When reporting on subjects of national importance, journalists should exercise restraint, said the Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Asante, former presiding bishop of the Methodist Church in Ghana.
