Good News: Concerned Drivers suspend move to increase transport fares by 30%

The Concerned Drivers Association has postponed its September 21, 2022, implementation of a 30% increase in transit charges.

It was stated last week that the Association and the True Drivers Union would be raising transportation costs by 30%.

They said the planned hike was caused by rising costs for gasoline and replacement components, as well as the government’s inept economic management.

Electricity charges, water tariffs, spare part prices, food prices, and pure water prices have all risen, thus we have no choice but to likewise raise our fares,” the two organisations said.

To quote the unions: “we are unable to produce enough money to feed for our family and pay off our debts.”

But Paa Willie, head of the Concerned Drivers, informed Nyankonton Mu Nsem that the proposed hike has been put on hold
