According to reports originally culled from Gistreel, a Nigerian woman has died after plunging into a river after getting off a motorcycle in the Gbodofon neighborhood of Abeokuta.
Vanguard equally substantiated the story, revealing the woman allegedly did the deed after getting a call from an unnamed caller.
Eyewitnesses claimed that because they were far away from her, they were unable to hear or understand anything she said or heard on the call.
“She just dropped her phone into her wallet, dropped the wallet on the ground, and jumped into the river” Lamina Kamiludeen, a witness said.
Those who were present when the unfortunate incident had added that the water level prevented them from jumping in to save her, so they notified the state fire department instead, and personnel from the agency arrived at the scene.
After the state fire service arrived, all attempts to recover her body were unsuccessful since, in their estimation, she had been lost in the river.
