Women Entrepreneurs, Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) – Cohort 5 Online Application Form
AWE – Academy for Women Entrepreneurs supports the development of women entrepreneurs in Ghana. The project provides women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, tools, and networks that they need to turn their ideas into successful businesses. AWE seeks to promote collective economic prosperity and global stability by creating a holistic, inclusive learning community to advance the development of women with brilliant ideas into successful entrepreneurs. AWE is centered around an online or in-person training program on women’s entrepreneurship, DreamBuilder, developed through a partnership between Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management and global copper mining company, Freeport McMoRan.
Applications are open for AWE Cohort 5, set to commence training in September 2023. The 5-week online-based training course is open to women between the ages of 25 and 40 who may or may not own businesses and reside in the Greater Accra, Eastern, Volta, Central, Western, Ashanti, Bono, Northern, Upper East, and Upper West regions. This application is open to women residing in Ghana.
The project requirements include participants’ familiarization with and commitment to twice weekly online training sessions within a 5-week period. The online-based training will comprise individual and facilitated online training sessions and assignments, confidence-building programs, networking sessions, and presentations. There will be opportunities for successful business people and entrepreneurs to share their stories with participants, all online. Participants who successfully complete all modules of training will be presented with certificates of completion.
The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) is fully funded by the US Department of State.
NOTE: Beneficiaries of USG-funded exchanges (MWF, YALI, IVLP, Humphrey, Fulbright, SUSI, Fortune, AWEP, YES, CCI,) are not eligible for this program.
