A young man carrying a bag of dead babies and acting like a mentally challenged person was captured by an enraged mob and almost beaten to death in Lagos.
On Sunday, passersby saw the unnamed man’s bloody sack on the Cele Expressway in Lagos and confronted him right away.
He allegedly provided unconvincing explanations when questioned before fleeing and diving into the lake to avoid being captured. An eyewitness claimed that after being pursued by the mob, he was captured and given to the police.
“We noticed his sack was dripping blood and we enjoined some street urchins to help us query the man further. He quickly ran into a lake but he was caught. We opened the sack and saw fresh dead babies.
When we interrogated him on what he was doing with the gory items, he refused to answer but noted that he killed the mother of the babies. We handed him over to the police for fear of him being lynched,” an eyewitness stated.
