Erkuah Oficial, a popular Ghanaian TikToker has disclosed that most of them get money from the adverts and live videos on the app.
One of the most followed Ghanaian TikToker and influencer is Erkuah Official. She has shared with media personality, Berla Mundi how lucrative is the TikTok app.
Erkuah opened up about the time before she joined TikTok and the massive change that happened in her life after she signed up for the app. She disclosed that she could barely afford to take care of herself, revealing that she couldn’t buy herself a wig and owned only two pairs of shoes.
In as interview, Janet Awuku Offei as she is legally known revealed that she started making TikTok video about a year ago when she had to stay home for a while due to new covid protocols which were put in place by the University of Ghana.
After staying home and doing nothing for a while, she felt bored and remembered she had created a TikTok account sometime back and decided to explore the app. As she watched various videos, Janet realized she was capable of also creating videos on the app. She started off by watching and learning from some creators until she could come up with ideas of her own.
She disclosed that she can now fend for herself and is also making thousands of money from TikTok.
“This is how we make our money. When people like brands come to us, and they want us to advertise something for them, I charge you and make a video for you. Song promotions. And we also make money through live streams.”
All three agreed that in a day of active live streaming, one can easily make a total of Gh10,000 cedis in dollar equivalent.
For Emma Ifeanyi, he stopped working in a water packaging warehouse because his salary was Ghc500, but he made Gh2,000 in a week.
“I went home and downloaded TikTok. And in one week, I made Ghc2,000 cedis. In a week because I was just starting.”
