The novel coronavirus broke out in the country in March 2020, leaving citizens in despair due to the weak healthcare system in the country.
The first case was recorded on 14 March, a 42-year-old woman in Malabo, who returned to Equitorial Guinea from Madrid, Spain had contracted the dreadful disease.
The country declared a state of alarm on 22nd March to help facilitate the mobilization of economic and material resources to help stop further spread of coronavirus. The confirmed cases rose to 9 on 24th March, all were imported cases.
The country currently has 315 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 3 deaths. The recovery rate was at a snail pace but after the acquisition of the Madagascan Covid-organics, the country has seen recovery rate increase by 44%, from 9 recoveries a day to 13 in 5 days.
There has not been any scientific research into the medicine by the WHO but it is already curing people in Africa.
