ECG disconnects power to McDan’s salt company over GH300,000 debt

Reports say that the salt company of business mogul, Dr. Daniel McKorley also known as McDan has been disconnected due to GHc3000,000 debt.

The revenue task force of the Electricity Ghana Company (ECG) has launched an exercise to disconnect homes and institutions that owe or have engaged in illegal connections.

Laila Abubakari, the manager of external communications at ECG SAID, “it has come to light that ECG meter readers have been denied entry to gain access to the meter installed in their premises.”

According to reports, the team from the task force engaged the security of the salt company and proceeded to disconnect power from the source, which left the entire facility in darkness.

Aside from disconnecting Electrochem company, ECG disconnected power to three other privately owned businesses including a banana farm, Moonlight Fresco Limited, and a fish farm Frosell all in the Ada district.
