Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr George Akuffo Dampare has cautioned British High Commissioner Harriet Thompson to “learn to keep within the limits of what concerns you”.
In a letter to the British envoy on Friday, May 20, 2022 under restriction, Dr Akuffo Dampare said she must be guided by a Ghanaian proverb, Di wo fie as3m, to wit resolve your internal issues.

The letter was written in apparent response to a tweet by High Commissioner Thompson over the recent arrest of social media activist Oliver Mawuse Barker-Vormawor for violating traffic regulations.

In expressing disagreement with the tweet, Dr Dampare told her: “For the moment, we would recommend a Ghanaian saying that might guide you in your diplomatic engagements.
“The saying goes – “di wo fie as3m” – it means learn to keep within the limits of what concerns you.”
