A clearance for recruitment statistics from the multimedia group has revealed that, the government will be recruiting only 600 persons into the Ghana Education Service (GES) this year.

According to the media group who referenced the source of their information to the Ministry of Finance, the clearance for recruitment will expire on 31st December, 2021.
Meanwhile, the GES during a presentation at the Ghana Teacher’s Awards Ceremony indicated that, the service is set to recruit to a total of 40,000 persons, both teaching and non -teaching staff when the portal is opened.
Upon further investigations, sources have also indicated that the 600 for GES is not for teaching staff rather ICT coordinators.
Below are some reactions from newly trained teachers and other youth who spoke to Honestynewgh.
“So what are those in the universitiesoffering other programmes doing if the only slot available is immigration, health persons, fire service, police service and trained teachers. This means all the other programmes we are doing in the universities are bogus”, Emmanuel Obeng quizzes.
