Master Samuel Demenya, the Welfare Chairman of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Student Representative Council (SRC), has been asked to step down from his duties pending the outcome of an investigation into rape allegations.

In a statement available to georgeweb.org indicated his suspension comes after he was alleged to have raped a female resident of the Unity Hall.

The office of the Chief of Staff by this memo would like to inform all executives as a matter of expediency that the Welfare Chairperson, Master Samuel Demenya with immediate effect has been asked to step aside from his official duties and vacate his office pending investigation on some allegations leveled against him until matters are substantiated.
In his absence for the mean time, the Properties and Facilities Commissioner, Master Michael Sagoe, has been charged by the President with the duties of managing and running office of the Welfare Chairperson until further notice.
The entire executive body would duly be briefed on whatever comes out of this process.
