Miami Firefighters reported Thursday that they responded to the Brickell City Center due to a call about a fire that had occurred within him.
According to the chain Univisionthe, fire occurred, punctually, in the Luxurious East Hotel, within the complex.
“Several units were sent to respond to the plume of smoke billowing from the second floor of the east building of the Brickell City Center,” They reported on their Twitter account, and added: “The scene is still active so please avoid the area. No injuries were reported at this time.”
Several videos that circulated on social networks showed the columns of black smoke coming out from the windows of the east section of a building, facing Southwest Eighth Street.
In other images, it was seen people being evacuated from the complex which in addition to a hotel and a shopping centre, which includes various entertainment options.
For now, It’s unclear what caused the fire or if anyone was injured.
The Brickell City Center is located in the epicenter of the financial district of South Florida. Located on Brickell Avenue, it is strategically connected to South Beach and to districts such as Wynwood.
