Akufo-Addo to teachers salary increased – NAPO hints

Ghana’s Education Minister and Member of Parliament for the Manhyia South Constituency, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has denoted President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s willingness to increase teachers salary.

The Minister disclosed this in an interview when addressing the GES recruitment and teachers concerns on Peace FM’s morning show dubbed ‘Kokrokoo’ monitored by Georgeweb.org with host Kwame Sefa Kayi.

According to Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, His Excellency Akufo-Addo anytime gets angry when told the salary teachers in the country receives monthly, and thus demanding for an increment of the arrears.

“For the teacher’s salary level, President Akufo-Addo when told gets angry and say NAPO increase the teacher’s salary arrears”, he told host Sefa Kayi.

However, the Manhyia South Member of Parliament (MP) explained that the Education Ministry is not responsible for the increment of teachers arrears but rather the Ministry of Finance.
