At least two people lost their lives as Hurricane Nicole gets worst along Florida’s eastern shore yesterday.
Reports say that during the Hurricane, thousands of people in Florida had power cuts, while others also had their buildings collapse and floods take over some portions of the eastern coast.
The Hurricane is said to be the first in the United State in November in nearly 40 years. In a press release from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, two people were “electrocuted by a downed power line” in Orange County, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
Meanwhile, other damages caused by Hurricane Nicole include, 9 beachfront buildings including 24 hotels and condos that have been deemed “unsafe” following Hurricane Nicole in Volusia County, officials said in a press release.
“The structural damage along our coastline is unprecedented,” county manager George Recktenwald said in the release. “We have never experienced anything like this before, so we ask for your patience as we make our assessments.
Volusia County officials have “declared a curfew in incorporated and unincorporated areas east of the Intracoastal Waterway from 11:22 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, through 7 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11,
About two hundred people have however been hosted in a shelter while 23,000 residents are without power in Florida.
