Prestea is a gold mining town located in the Prestea – Valley municipality surrounded, by many farming Communities such as Kutukrom, Broni-nkwanta, Afukey, Nipahiamoa and many others. The municipality comprises of three major towns namely; Prestea, Huni-Valley and Bogoso, of which Bogoso is the district capital. Moving straight to the point, the people of Prestea keep asking one simple question day- in day-out. Which is ” why have the municipal chief executive Dr Dasmani and member of Parliament Madam Barbara Oteng Gyesi neglected Prestea “? This interrogation is to know why the MCE and the MP have decided not to change the face of Pestea by embarking on developmental projects especially fixing the bad roads linking other Communities to Prestea and within the Prestea Township.

Due to this, the people of the area have embarked on a special campaign themed “fix Prestea roads”
Farmers find it very difficult to transport their produce to Prestea market to sell and the worse is that patients who could be healed die on their way to the Prestea government hospital due to the very bad nature of the roads connecting various communities to Prestea and within the Township. Now to the last word of the people of Prestea. ” Many are the promises you ( Madam Barbara Oteng Gyesi) made during your campaign in 2016 but none have been fulfilled and the only thing we want you (MP, Madam Barbara Oteng Gyesi) and ( MCE , DR Dasmani) to do is to fix Prestea roads now or you don’t count on our vote.
Mean while, Prestea being a mining town house a lot of mining companies which include BGL, AEL, SANKOFA GOLD MINING COMPANY AND GOLD FIELDS of which they have all failed to fix the bad roads in the municipality on which they also drive their heavy trucks as part of their social responsibilities.
Prestea have been lacking a lot of developmental Project talking about bad roads which is the major challenge nowand lack of potable water since ages.But this year the people of Prestea have decided to vote the current MP out should she and her MCE fail to fix the bad roads in the municipality.
